i keep buying belgian waffles at starbucks. gabby this is all your fault =(

made a new friend today. i think his name is spelt as kai? but anyway he came up to me in the afternoon today asking if he could sit opposite me. i got the shock of my life and obviously told him no, i was busy. okay so he was probably quite malu and went back to his seat less than 2 metres away, telling me to find him when i was done with work. yeah right like the hell i will; was thinking of ways i could run away without him noticing. (all the while there were these two uncles opposite me kaypohing)

went to the toilet sometime in the evening. somewhere in my cubie i had this brainwave that omg maybe he's a scammer and wanted to take my things when i went away, since people would assume that he knew me and won't suspect anything. but when i returned, lo and behold there was this post it pad on my table with a note that goes along the lines of "sorry for being so abrupt just now, but i've been seeing you everytime i come here. are you studying everyday?"

haha it was quite funny so i just went to talk to him for awhile. he has damn ugly (childish) handwriting btw. don't know whether he's smart or not (although he looks nerdy) but he's studying privately cause he couldn't get the courses he wanted. what does that mean?

mmm anyway, this is good i keep making friends with all kinds of people =)

these are so painfully gorgeous i wna book a plane ticket and fly there NOWW, nevermind that they are four different universities out of the many others that i'm drooling over right now.

i think i'm starting to pick them based on their campuses. like the old, stately ones are really really attractive. imagine yourself bundled up in a floor length coat encircling the snow peppered stone floors with the sky a blinding palette of gold and crimson and dusk blue as the sun sets. or basking in the cooler sun rays on a green mowed lawn facing the archs of the school compound. or the chance to completely reinvent yourself however you want it.

didn't consider oxbridge (as gabby is so concerned with now) because i didn't really wna spend my dying youth (what an oxymoron) in a too competitive environment. i want to open my eyes and take in the world and i hope and hope and hope that i am good enough. but i'm freaking out right now about sats subjects tests and personal statements and drafting testimonials and EVERYTHING, so much so that gp is still in a buried lump even though prelims is ONE AND A HALF WEEKS AWAY goddammit i can't stand the murkiness of not knowing how gp will turn out.

daddy finally got me a new phone =D

i miss having a proper keypad =( the transparent slide is gorgeous but not very functional to my fat fingers. averaged about 2minutes replying all my messages today when i could have just taken 1/2. ah well the sacrifices we make to keep up with the new gadgets (and for the prettiness of it, of course)

bought 3 pairs of shorts in 1 week 1 day (yes, kill me now). beihan i know i said we don't have time for shopping but cause i study at starbucks there'll always be shops calling out my names as i walk pass and i'm lousy at resisting temptation. got miah to accompany me for the edb openhse on sat. met dylan there and he told us our beloved chinhwee is nominated for promqueen! haha went to nudge her about it but she refuses to tell me anything so ahwell =X app. gia got a nomination as well. to quote beihan, "i'll have attended two failed pageants if they win" so cross fingers!

the stupid photocopy shop sold me a defective copy of gp prelim papers, which kinda ruined my plans to mug for gp today.

okay shut up i know you're thinking, 'who the hell mugs for gp', right? i mean, it's supposed to come naturally. and preparing essay outlines and cramming aq structures is just, rigid. and stupid. but i am rigid and stupid when it comes to gp; i don't understand whyyy i'm stuck and honestly i'm quite scared it's never going to improve. rawr and i didn't do my sgc either. nor find uni application forms. sometimes i don't mind if As revolved around doing complex and electrochem and faraday's law even though all three of them suck. they make you feel stupid but at least they come with the answer sheets.

to quote gabby, it is now a mugging heaven, haha. i rmb i used to love going there with my parents cause we always order the same yummy things: ice blended mocha and newyork cheesecake =D but now that i'm starting to worry about calories (which i wish i wouldn't =/) i haven't been touching them. rawrrrr.

anw i don't know why it's such a nice place to study. probably cause it takes away some of the confining feelings of studying, like i can pretend i'm actually enjoying the day sipping lemonade and reading random notes. if i were to be shut up in school or in a library i'll just go mad from keeping quiet.

accessories:
hmm i think she put this in cause i'm always wearing different accessories when i'm out with her =D

i think accessories tell a lot about the person. like if someone wore a beret down orchard road i'll guess her to be a girl who is confident and not afraid of other people's judgements. or if a girl has 3 different matching necklaces i'll take her to be someone who wants to stand out from the majority. and obviously i can tell if you're a goth/bimbo/geek from what you wear, too.

for me, accessories just make the outfit more interesting. i mean, there's nothing wrong with going out wearing a tee and shorts, but it's boring after a while, you know. and you look the same like everyone else. so that's where all the loud necklaces and cropped jackets come in. omg i'm such a girl.

btw i always think singaporeans are damn boring in their dress sense, but nvmmm.

expectations:
hmmm let's see... i have very high expectations of myself, full stop.

i know i want to grow up and make my name in the world, i just don't know exactly which path to take yet. wowww i sound like i'm going for world dominance but nope, not that extreme. i'm not gna be vying with quekk to become the next prime minister of singapore heh. go quekk i'll vote for you! =D

but on the negative end, because i set certain standards for myself, i expect everyone to set some degree of expectations for themselves too. so when they don't, sometimes i'm guilty of judging them, or take what they say to me with a (teenyweeny) bit of cynicism. it's wrong i know, but let's face it, if you want something, you gotta make sacrifices right?

writing about this kinda feels like i'm in detention, and i'm supposed to write about something i did wrong. it still is something that i did wrong, but probably, it's a 'we' did wrong instead?

okay no actually i don't think we did wrong at all. i know, like what quek said, that we were a medal-winning boat. so what went wrong? i blame it on the starter. honestly, i think it was the way he called for the starting that screwed us up. but then again, we were never the most stable boat to begin with. our trainings have always been a series of fluctuations of exhilarating rows and excruciating rows that all of us uncertain about how things would turn out on The Day. and well, it turns out that The Row On The Day happened to be a bad one. so what if it had been good? can we say that we deserve to win? no. we haven't even reached a steady peak yet. it's like non-discretionary fiscal policy; you have the booms and then you have the dooms. so you can't rely on it completely; you'll need expansionary measures such as Increased Trainings. but then again we had a Problem of Timing so the policy was ineffective to a large extent. we should probably have built up our Supply-Side Capacity in the first place, and i could probably draw on more comparison with econs now but i think this does the trick in lightening up the atmosphere, thanks.

to say that we wanted it is pointless. who doesn't want it? do we want it bad enough? yes. but have we truly done enough to show that we wanted it bad enough? i'll say yes, we did to a certain extent. but it was too late, and anyway can we honestly compare our trainings to those of the other schools'? the best boat in the race wins, and it was un-luck that we weren't that boat in that race.

i cried, a number of times. post nats dinner that day was painful, one of those i'm-gonna-put-a-smile-on-my-face-cause-we-must-be-happy sort of events. i cried, because i don't think the race did justice to what we did. everything i've just said still applies. we don't not match some of the other schools in our number of trainings and everything, but even so, that row showed nothing, absolutely nothing of our capability. it was really us operating at the keynesian level of demand-deficient unemployment. and it was painful. it was painful to know that we've worked so hard and couldn't show our results in that race. i wanted to show those people in macritchie what the raffles canoeing girls team can do, you know? and our juniors, i wanted to show them what we can achieve because we've trained so damn freaking hard. our team could have gotten a placing, and things would have be different.

sometimes things in life just doesn't go the way it should, or the way you plan it to be. so you shut up, and just be thankful that you're alive. no matter how wrong things go for you, the rest of the world doesn't know, cause you're only that big. so just be thankful that you have people around you who will lend you their shoulder to cry on, and judge you from what they know of you rather than what you did wrong.

fyi, raw sugar is something that i kope from the starbucks' condiments kiosk when i run out of sweets and before i renew my supply of sweets. i am very discreet in my koping and consuming of these sugar packets because, okay, it's strange? butttttt i got gab addicted too hehehe so that proves that it's quite nice. now before you go away thinking i'm some cheapo, i also buy the sweets they sell in starbucks okay, like the $4.40 mini pack of cinnamon mints which i had a craving for once. they turned out to be expired -.- okay so i know no one ever buys them, but you should always update the stock right???

9hrs straight of math today at starbucks and i'm halfway through the disgusting revision paper. the reward was new clothes ~~again~~.

okay so i'm quite sure that you have, at some point in time or another, told one (if not many) of your girlfriends that so-and-so or mr-who-and-who isn't worth it.

then you pause and think, hey, do the guys ever tell their buddies that? like for example, "blahblah's such an immature girl, you're worth more than that!"

if i were to analyse my life thus far, i'd have a very depressing blog post.

actually there are a lot of things that i don't understand, like how some people can get away with misdeeds while others are always picked on. if i were to use a crude analogy i'd probably cite jiahao as an example, cause teachers always pick on him in class even if it wasn't his fault. perhaps first impressions count. or perhaps people are just inherently prejudiced. either way, i'm tired of hearing all these shit. shit that is as true as weixiang being anorexic.

i have zero mood for school. i can't believe i have to restart school with a stupid physics mockspa during protected time tomorrow. plus chem mockspa 2hrs later after that. what is this.

i'm thinking i should post about nationals but it's going to take awhile for me to internalise things, so maybe not. now if only i could make people stop asking me how nationals went, i really don't know how to answer that question. i don't think anyone outside of canoeing, or rather outside of the team, would really understand "how nationals went".

okay nevermind. i think i've been relatively bitchy the past few days so i apologise for that. need to start evening out my tan and catch up people. i think life will be very very empty from now on.

the greater the expectations, the harder the fall. we had so much in us, but in that two minutes, we failed to give our best. it wasn't that we didn't give 100%, we did. but i would say 60% of that 100% was spent trying to keep that damned boat from capsizing, which equates to a performance much, much, much below average.

if anything, i would say it was partly due to the starter, because of him the starting was so rushed and we panicked. the start burst was rocky and uncoordinated; it was hard to pump power. we started lagging behind the cj boat, and that was something i didn't understand. it made me try to pump more power. we began to catch up. the boat rocked all the way to the 200mark, and then it stopped momentarily. it wasn't for a split second, it was much longer than that, much longer that it should have been. and in that second, i saw you lose hope. perhaps i misinterpreted it, but i was angry. i pumped harder, i think you did too. but it was too late.

i don't regret our trainings. i knew we gave our best shot at improving our placing this nationals, and we did have a good chance of achieving that goal. perhaps things just didn't happen our way, and it was unlucky for us to have screwed up when we did. i told quek i wasn't upset that we didn't win, i was upset that we gave other people another reason for them to write raffles off when we had a damn big chance of proving them wrong. the team may very well know what we can achieve, and what it could have been, but i would have wanted things to turn out differently. perhaps that's not the way i should be thinking, but i wanted us to prove something, and to bring in a placing for the team. in many ways, i would describe it as being wasted.

but just now in the shower i realised that, after training so hard for a year, maybe i shouldn't think of it as being wasted. we may have been training hard with the aim of improving our placing, but in fact, what we were actually training for was a shot at improving our placing. we went from nothing to something. and it wasn't just something, it was something close to our dreams. and in our crazy trainings, what got us through was not our faster timings, but the 8 other girls who were all going through the same regime. sometimes we weren't even fighting for our dream, sometimes we were just fighting for each other.

after the race, xiner asked me if i regretted joining canoeing, because i was crying like some lunatic. but the moment she asked that, i thought she was mental one, because my immediate answer was no. i never once regretted joining canoeing. in the end, what i was crying for was the fact that we couldn't show everyone what this team is capable of. the team that is so strong, that fought so hard despite people (maybe even our own jiaolian sometimes) looking down on us. i don't think i'll easily find a team this strong elsewhere in the school. i've witnessed everyone in the team shed tears because of trainings, see them bruise and bleed (and even get sent to the hospital) because of trainings, and well, obviously sweat like unglam pigs because of training. despite everything, they are the reason why i never regretted joining canoe, and they are the reason why i stayed on to fight. when i think i'm going through the worst ever, i know that somewhere, there are 8 other girls going through the same shit as me.

so to quek, i'm so proud to have you as my captain. in all my years in rg i'd never have expected myself to make friends with you, much less have the honour of having you in my team and as my captain. you'd never let your bad trainings prevent you from continuing to cheer US up, and you've always pushed yourself the hardest. we may tease you and laugh at you, but i think we've always shortchanged you by not telling you how much we love you. i'll always respect you and always love you, and as part of my answer to your question, i don't regret joining canoeing because if i didn't, i'd never have gotten to know you. okay and i'm going to stop here because if i proclaim my love for you any more the sji boys will confirm think i'm lesbo.

:28 on saturday in the once-feared k1. and i know it can be faster.

trainings have been occupying everything. i haven't slept at 8.30 on a school night since primary school, but that's what i'm doing now. but all in all, this last burst feels good. my brain has gone on a vacation but rowing doesn't require much mental capacity for things like probability =D

parents were finally happy with my ct grades because of econs. sometimes i wish they'd lax a little, now there's extra pressure to do well in ct2, which is probably impossible since it's 3 essays. ah but screw that, i don't even want to start thinking about that.

geri started counting down trainings last sat, it reminded me of our seniors counting down theirs. it's going to feel so strange =(

100% all out during the race, because 1 year worth's of training is all condensed down into that 2/4 minutes.

caught up with sherrie for like 2mins after assembly today. i really miss their class, hopefully there'll be lots more time for them after this.

was happy. was expecting a capsize in the ak actually, or a 12+ timing. but gabby is getting so freaking fast in her t1 she totally owned me today. gabby dear i'm damn happy for you =)) rowed k2 with her after that and she corrected my paddle angle. now it feels twice as hard to pull water, which is definitely a good thing cause it means i'm catching more.

anyway, we were taking a break from our mileage at the 1k mark when we saw eugene and quanwei in their c1s. so being the retards that we are, we demanded to borrow qw's c1. gabs got in first and held on to the paddle and the pontoon for dear life for about one minute before i told her to try later (ie give up, screw off and let me try!) so i got in and didn't even last 15seconds before being in serious danger of disgracing myself =( kelly was laughing at us in her k2 when she rowed by. ahh well it was fun while it lasted, plus today was supposed to be a slack trng without timings lorhh jiaolian bluff us.

got my measurements taken by my designer after trng. she didn't sound very nice over the phone but in person she was like super nervous. anyway her design is nice! now all i have to do is to lose weight after nationals =X fruits diet here we come!

after njcc, i've been lucky enough to row k1,2&4 for raffles. and in every race there are moments that i remember the clearest.

before every race at the starting line, you tell yourself to relax. you remind yourself once and again that being composed equates to rowing a good race. ultimately, what you're race against isn't the hc boat on your left nor the nj boat on your right. what you're racing against is the voice in your head telling you to be fearful. once you let that voice take register, that's it. that's when you panic at your start burst, which translate to an abnormally high frequency, which screws up your maintainence. and from then on it's harder to get yourself to focus and to get the strokes right.

have you experienced a sudden burst of power at the last 200m? it probably wasn't because you saw that the boat next to you was inching ahead. nope, most likely you were so fixated on your strokes you couldn't extend your focus to caring about where the other boats were. probably it was because you saw the mass of people on shore cheering (in fact, they were practically willing you with their entire hearts for you to go faster, faster, faster). you started pulling your strokes along with their cheering rhythm, 'raffles (pull) raffles (pull even harder)'

during the k2 races, the power came because it was literally an in or out issue. you have only two minutes to put 1 year's worth of sweat, blood and tears to use. two minutes, so every second counts. every stroke pulled without focus could amount to 0.1 second lost, and differentiate you from the qualifying boats. so you pump so much harder, you push so much more, you push and push and push until you cross the finishing line and turn for the first time to look at the other lanes - you see that your competitors are still rowing. in that instant your blood rushes to your head, this giddy happiness of knowing that you've made it overwhelms. you see your teammates jumping up and down, sharing your immense joy, and you're bursting with happiness to have made them proud. you turn to look at your partner, and tell her (breathlessly) that that was a good row. you tell her over and over again that it was a good row, that you love her, that you're proud of her.

then you go for boat control.

it's the most amazing feeling.

how many people can say that they have literally put in sweat, blood and tears into their trainings? i've seen so many of us break down, because we put such high pressure on ourselves. i've had more than my fair share of emotional wreckages, but you guys (you wise people) have reminded me that getting demoralised only produces worse trainings. i will keep telling myself that, and i hope that all of you will remember what you told me in my moment of weakness, and bounce back again.

thank you, for waking me up when things felt awful today. thought through things after training, and i should keep reminding myself this:

bad rows aren't really bad rows per se, they're just indications that we're either not taking care of our bodies, or not focusing on how we're pulling water. 'bad rows' teach us humility, reminding us that we cannot always expect improvement without effort. 'bad rows' mark our minimum standard, from which we can then personal best from. 'bad rows' shouldn't be demoralising, because then we'd lose the fuel to train. 'bad rows' should be followed by devoting the next training to not do what-we-did-this-training-that-made-the-row-bad.

and most important, i'll remind myself not to celebrate the good rows, but to remain strong after those which could be better.

"there's more to life than studying"

someone (i shall not mention who) said this to me last saturday when i was studying with the team after trng.

i know perfectly well, that there's more to life than spending every single free moment i have doing tutorials and whatnots. in fact, sometimes i think i'm close to burning out, and i know everyone who sees me probably think i'm some loser or goodytwoshoes with nothing better to do than to sit and mug all day long.

but season is coming soon and trainings are starting to take up so much time. and it's not just the time component, it's waking up every training day feeling pressurised to do well, just because we all have expectations for ourselves. whether it's at the 0k mark getting ready to take a timing or just doing our strokes properly. every slight thing that goes wrong leaves us ending the training with a 'that was a sucky training i hope the next one will be better'. and when we reach home at about 8pm after trainings what can we do except stone and fall asleep?

like everyone else, i have my parents who don't say much but are secretly disappointed that i don't bring home 5As to show them (literally). okay like whatever seriously. i know people tell me to work for myself and not for my parents but it's pretty much like how we all row for jiaolian sometimes. it's just that feeling of disappointing someone, of seeing on their faces what they want to tell you but cannot.

njcc is on the weekend before our ct1s, and regardless of how much work i'm doing now i'm prepared to sacrifice the latter to train, and i know the team is too. if we could train every day of the week i know we would. i'm not trying to justify 'not having a life' now, if you think it's stupid or whatever. i'm just saying that we know what we are doing, because after all the time spent on water, we have precious little left to work with.

i guess i'm just gna push through these 2.5mths, because i can feel the anxiety and the adrenaline whenever i picture myself at the startline at bedok, with whoever i'm rowing with. and i can already see the faces of the team cheering and hear their voices spurring us on.

2.5 more months, and all these crazy things we're doing now will be worth it.

i'm so happy i can finally throw away my sats book. after calculations i've wasted a grand total of 12x3 = 36 hrs = 1.5days doing sats papers kill me nowwww. but omg was overwhelmed by the no. of rj people taking sats on sat.

was damn bored 3/4 way into the paper. started around 8.30 and only ended close to 1? severe brain drain.

met ned wanyi jun jong afterwards at kranji to go malaysiaaaa =D was so fking happy to do that cause i think my brain would have combusted from the overexertion w/o some frivolity. the ride there was pretty unjammed much to our surprises and jong nearly kenaed whacked by a real malaysian cause of his loud mouth orh horhhh hahaha.

went shopping (ie. budget plans failed big time) and eating (ie. no fats plan also failed big time). haha but ned's ahma can cook damn well i can fully understand why ned rhymes with fat. yumyumm. btw have i mentioned how frigging ass big and nice ned's house is! omggg.

this was our supposed appetiser, aka. dinner no. 1 cooked by ned's ahma. wanyi and jun's hands caught in the act of koping food ultra-unglamly.

i say aka dinner no. 1 cause the amount of food exploded exponentially thanks to ned's mum and godpa so we had like salmon sashimi???? along with squid/scallop porridge, which was the star of the night. wanyi took 3 helpings (including some koped from ned) so you know exactly how good it was.

played cards after that for awhile, then we had like bbq which was dinner no.2 and 3 omggg. first time i saw a whole roast duck sitting on the bbq pit. set off fireworks afterwards and the rockets totally put kennethtan to shame hahahaha.

anyway, happy new year one and all. the last day of my 2008 was spent amazingly with my boyfriend. presenting to you, missB&Js:

we had tons of time & zero moolah so we screwed around at raffles hotel taking lovely photographs.

then we found an abandoned rickshaw and decided to make good use of it =D

night came and we visited marinabay where we saw our wishball among the thousands of wishballs! (the reddish thingys in the background)

and someone is in for a birthday surprise x)

then we realised some people wrote quite funny things on those wishcards

at 9plus we were finally innnnnnnnnnn =)
and because everyone was stoning around at first we had alot of time to ourselves.

kayy so i'm back from the land of shilin chicken and chen shui bian with a lot of pineapple tarts and hair accessories =D

the trip itself was quite boring we spent an average of 6hrs on the bus everyday like wth. on one awesome day we rode 2hrs of bus to ulu farm number 1 to buy custard apples and then another 2hrs of bus to ulu farm number 2 to buy grapes. but i guess it was quality family time yepp.

i got to watch twilight yesterday thanks to bimbofriend who came all the way down to waste time with me heh. omggg dr.cullen is so cute i swear when he first made his grand entrance through the doors of the hospital the whole cinema erupted with the titters of fangirls. from all the girls in the cinema (myself included).

past week has been quite fun.

met up with yiming on monday cause i haven't been able to see him on his previous visits. went to watch body of lies which was quite a good show although it was bloody violent (pun intended). anyway the lucky pokk is going newyork for christmas i'm damn jealous =/

training on wed and thurs, both not very good; jiaolian's ~~kinda~~ super pissed at us for missing so many trainings.

friday was helping my bimbo counterpart shop for christmas presents day. it was damn fun bringing him around far east haha. did a bit of my own shopping after that and bought a lot of new necklaces very pretty =)) met ned and wanyi afterwards at yck stadium to watch rugby's match it was rather interesting i guess.

today was eat good food day! met serene around noon and i bought 2 new cardigans damn chiooo (freak i'm like spending a lot of $$$). had my eye on another mango vest and rene had hers on a black top so cross fingers and pray that they're still there when we get to proper shopping date on tues heh. dated weili for lunch at dingtaifung then it was off to winter wear shopping for taiwan, or "ba4zhang3" clothes to quote serene. bought one from mango and it's damn hot (oh look another pun). finally we had bday dinner for my ahma i hope she likes my present =))

my room has never felt so quiet and boring before.

i realise that other than the 1-2 hrs of solitude i need everyday, most of the time i need to be occupied with being around people. somehow tiring myself out feels much better than bumming around becoming lethargic. i miss the 24/7 time with the team. i miss waking up and knowing that there's something to be accomplished that day. i miss falling asleep without being insomniac because the day was exhaustive enough.

ran standard chartered half marathon on 07dec2008. you know how exhilarating it normally feels when you complete a long-d run? well that feeling is completely irrelevant for me in 21k. both times (during training and on the actual race) the adrenaline kicked in somewhere around 10-12km. by 15km your body starts to revolt and every klick feels like double the distance. by the 18km the only thing left is your mental drive pushing you on; you think you're running fast but actually you're crawling along, and every klick feels like three times the distance. the last 2km were awful and the endpoint was shitty shit because at every turn near the fullerton i was expecting to see it but i never did, and finally when i thought it was done i saw the '150m' sign. i know 150m is like peanuts it's just that quick 30secs dash but at that point in time i just wanted to give up and join the crowd in walking towards the goal. luckily at the sides there were posters counting down every 25m and when it was finally over i couldn't walk everywhere was just pain and i think somewhere in my mind there was that bubble of joy knowing that i finished 21k but it was momentarily squashed and buried and totally insignificant.

stumbled around the finishers' area a bit, managed to collect my medal and submit the chip, staggered out and realised that i had no way of knowing how to find serene (we separated during the race). collected a 100plus and saw audrey looking for her mum, went to some memorial place and stoned for damn long trying to get my legs back, then had a horrible stomachache but refused to use the temporary toilets. walked in the wrong direction for awhile before turning back in time to see the civil memorial structure. shuffled back through underpasses and finally reaching bag deposit area, and i never felt so happy seeing my bag and getting my phone out to call serene. then i felt even happier when i finally met her and we both teared and it was so silly but amazing at the same time.

6.15am in the morning

10am after the race.

weili pangsehed us so we travelled to swissotel where we couldn't find a swimming pool. then we decided we might as well stick to the original plan of crashing ritz and we totally did. ritz pwns hyatt hands down hahaha.

and because we really loved the hotel we decided to leave behind a small message

we blended in so well at the hotel that even in the lobby the ppl there served us drinks. good life yepp.

met weili at marina square and there was this group of ppl doing some artsy stuff for esplanade. apparently their project was to make people write their new year wishes on these balls and release them on new year's day. it was freaking fun we got one whole ball to ourselves.

we wrote some real wishes and some silly wishes and i drew a freaking ugly running man haha.

weili got one whole ball to herself! and her running girl so cute la wth.

afterwards we went for lunch at hongkong cafe and freakkk we were so tired we left the restaurant without paying and had to be called back by the ppl hahahah malu shittt. now you know leaving w/o paying doesn't work! (although it might have if we sat outside hahaha)

went for louu's party yesterday =D happy sexy seventeen my dear!

went to sch at 9am to help isle sort out books. was dying of dust allergy towards the end so gave up and played battleships with charlene instead haha.

left early to go buy lou's present with junchang. watched quantum of solace and i didn't understand a single thing that was going on. i just know they fought a lot and the shooting scenes caused me to keep jumping in my seat, much to junchang's amusement -.-

got to her house at about 7, where everyone fell into the guitar heroes craze haha. had a yummy dinner of jap food (sushiiii) kudos to lou's uncle's shop. haha it made me miss sukisushi omg i wanna go back there and eat the buffet again hehe. so anyway played a bit of cards and mahjong then it was time to cut cake and give presents. stupid shaun and wanyi bought louu a christmas wreath cum feather boa thingy i dunno what the hell it was haha. maybe she's supposed to use it for caroling during christmas; she can be like the diva =D

dad came to pick me up at 2 in the morning. aye i think i ate alot yesterday feel very fat now rawr. wonder if tomorrow's trng will be crazy like the one that day.

we have a new resolve - to be able to do a proper pullup in 6 weeks. 5 weeks left now, and i really want it. this one step closer to what we want to achieve next year.

so pw is over and i'm so damn relieved i tell you. it was seriously the bane of my life i wanted to die. well i'm quite glad i had the opportunity to know my group members better but even then i think i was quite a bitch to them. sorry i promise next year i'll be better w/o pw.

we love you no matter what.
i think i can understand when you say you're not a competitive person by nature, because sometimes during trainings i feel a certain sense of unease competing against my own teammates too. but i guess the feeling's different for everyone, and you being such the lovable people's person you are, it's probably harder for you.
even though we may not fully comprehend what you're feeling, at least we know where you're coming from. i just want to let you know that i respect you for being brave enough to make your own decision, and that nobody thinks any worse of you. in fact, we love you for being brave enough to tell us this; it is 100times harder for you to be honest enough with us than for you to just pull through this 6months.
i'll miss you a lot. i may not have been very close to you, but your presence really makes a huge difference to the team morale. a training without you is a training without a happy voice constantly spurring us on. i've always admired your ability to cheer people up with just a happy hello and a hug, and there's so much that i can learn from you.
as quek said, you're always welcomed to the canoe tables. in fact, i think we'll be more than lucky to have you with us. take care and work hard. we'll support you no matter what; you'll always be very much loved by us =)

omggg sat's training was so draining i actually fell asleep during it haha =/

did 18k in total: 2k warm up + 16k continuous. then we had sets and running. (25crunches + 1.5min planks) x5 and a 20mins run. then during sets the break in between extended from 30s to 1min, so i clearly remember hearing geri's voice saying "30 more seconds" before i drifted off into dreamland and was woken up by xiner's "WAKE UP next set!"

secretly tried to race other k1s haha. i know i got washed by 3 ac boats and i got quite annoyed cause i let them pass me by thinking they were k2s. tried tailing the ac girl behind them and i was more or less the same pace as her? then i realised it was quite interesting so i kept tailing people, including this c1 rower who kept pace with me until we passed by a whole group of people at the 500m mark, where he burst like crazy to get ahead of me (to save his face i think, haha cause after that he slowed down again). anyway on my last km at the 1k mark i remember this k1 squeezed his way between chuanyaw and my boat (which were barely 1m apart) all the while shouting 'RJ K1S!' and i was like -.- can't you go another way. tried to tilt my boat to make way for him and before i knew it i was leaning too far and my brain was too drained to react fast enough to recover so i landed in the water.

went back school after that and ate a hell lot. then met melvin zixuan and jiakai for pw. okay i didn't do much today cause they were all editing their scripts =/ finalised the storyboard for our video and it seems quite okayy, although we just found out that we kena-ed a moe moderator so ggxx. damn suay la wth. i have a feeling i won't get an A for pw lehh wth.

okay whatever.

TODAY I ROWED 10K WITH CHEE-DARLING WITHOUT CAPPING IN THE AK hehehe. and as a tribute to resuming after school water trngs i shall post a couple of post nats dinner pics =)

thursday was romantic date with serene at hyatt.
it was love in the ~~club~~ pool x)

met her at fep at 1++, then went to help her find a pretty swimsuit. was supposed to only 'help' her find but in the end i saw this gorgeous black one that i just had to buy. okayyy and that brings my total shopping expenditure after promos to be.... a hell lot. haha crap.

we must have looked utterly like kids cause we took a gazillion photos in the pool =D

showered and left for hongkongcafe @cine (haha i had a nice dinner idea right!) =D

last thursday was no-school-go-hyatt day =D
friday was attend-5a-classbbq-as-honourary-member day.
saturday was stone-at-home day.

i think j2s had farewell on friday or smth, so we had a holiday? met louu and ned at about 3 to play pool, where i beat malaysian!!! =D hehehe. pooled until 5 when we decided it was time to go meet the rest at kenneth's house. got there, helped a teeny little bit in preparing corn for the bbq, then daniel took out his infamous taboo and we started making a hell lot of noise.

day was spent basically tabooing and bridging and binging and televisioning. haha wtf and we came across this show called 'the moment of truth' where basically the contestants are strapped to a lie detector test and forced to answer questions honestly to earn money.

eg. "do you regret marrying your husband?"

like omggg la i swear only americans will come up with this kind of shows.

sunday, dragged myself out of bed at 10.30 to get ready to meet jun at yck. freak in the time i take to swim 5 laps he swims 10 -.- at least i did close to 20? okay shit pathetic i know haha he finished 20 in half an hr.

WE HAD TRNG YESTERDAY! =D

hehe and i did the most stupid thing as usual. got into the sji ak early in the morning and was kicking the footrest to test the leg length when all of a sudden the boat tilted too far to the side. so i tried getting it back by clutching onto the sides of the pontoon but nope it was a stubborn boat insistent on taking me for the early morning bath i didn't get at home. so with a splash i capped right next to the pontoon, right in front of jiaolian. i'm such a goondu. okay must have been the 1 mth of non-trng causing me to forgot how unstable an ak is =/

so did about 8k in total. it was a very bad 8k cause i kept having to brace. everytime i think i can get some good strokes and speed into the row i'll lose my balance. it was rather annoying and i'm really hoping i can get over this balancing act soon. could feel that i wasn't turning and could feel that my strokes weren't right. arghhhhh.

anw bern came back! hehe i like her legs they're skinny and niceeee x) oooh then she bought us like royce chocolates which were the absolute bombb (thanks bern!) went for a 28min run after that around limboseng and 1/2 of monkeyhill and boardwalk, then 80pushups which were not alot at all but killed us completely.

i realise i missed the team a lot. like the classic moments when jn starts having her high-pitched monologues and xiner's face turns black immediately, or when chee does one of her stupid things like ermmm, forget gabby wore specs. yepp missed them *hugs*

today was originally rather boring. supposed to go crash hyatt swimming pool with serene but the silly girl was still running a fever. stoned around and was finally going to the club alone when junchang came to the rescue and agreed to go swim with me =D ended up at yck swimming complex, where i discovered that he is lifeguard qualified and swims twice as fast as me. (no seriously, everytime i open my eyes when i'm halfway across he'll be at the other side waiting for me alrd -.-) well it wasn't the hyatt and we didn't swim much at all hahaha but i had a lot of fun =) thanks jun!

am currently regretting 'letting myself go' during promo season; i can't seem to drop the 2kg of fats despite running everyday =X ugh. okay maybe it's because so far i've gone for 2 buffets and 1 bbq -.-

went gymming this morning with jong and kentan =D seriously degen-ed like crazy though omg. met the rest after that in sch, where we set up a disco in the ish with our badminton tournament and music blasting ("shorty got low low low..." hahaha)

hot and sweaty from badminton x)

played taboo and bridge and had bbq. set up another 2 rockets which were like bombs i tell you they just exploded. and i got this awful awful blister from playing badminton (quite loser right haha) which means that i probably can't go running tmr morning =( shyyyyyt fat fat fat. okay the blister is like some mega monster it's 3 times as big as my normal rudder blister.

monday's icecream buffet:

today was spent sleeping until 2.30pm hahaha. then went to sch to accompany foozy cause he wanted to study (yep you didn't read that wrongly). but after jong came it became mass sleeping session, then the ruggers joined us after their match and they all started laughing at my cleo magazine!
